Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Yamanakako Hana No Miyako Park near Mt Fuji
In the end of July, I was contacted by a couple from Cambodia. During their trip in Japan, they wanted to have a photoshoot near Mt Fuji. As they did not have much time, and were part of a tour, after discussion, we settled on Yamanakako Hana no Miyoka Park to create wonderful memories for their time here.
Make up and preparation
Prior to the photoshoot, at around 6AM, I went to their hotel with a Hair & Makeup Artist, Kenn, with whom I often work. He has experience working with couples, on tv series or commercials as well for make up and I trust him fully for my clients. Kenn got the couple ready for about 1.5h, taking care of both make up and hair, to make sure that they look their best for the shoot. Once done, we made our way to the park to start the shoot.
Hana No Miyako Flower Park
After about 25min drive, we settled and started the shoot. Our first stop was in a lavender field. Unfortunately, Mt Fuji was not visible that day but we still managed to take advantage of the beautiful field of lavender and truly capture special moments for their special days. For this particular scene, I try to have a good mix of candid and posed shots, to make sure that they would be comfortable, especially to start, so that they have time to warm up to the camera. And it turned out great, they were very happy about it and it really shows. The couple looks very happy and the shots look full of emotion.
Afterwards, we move to another part of the park, to work with a different color palette. This field was much wider and the flower were higher as well, allowing for much more immersive shots. The red and yellow really make for some warm shots and give some good contrast with the whiter tone of their clothes. This area is quite remote from the main area and you will need about 5-10min walk from the main part to reach it. But definitely worth it.

Afterwards, we moved to the garden area of the park. And we had a bit of fun there, let things lose to make sure that they have a good time and take fun pictures as well. I enjoy taking this kind of shots because it really shows the type of relationship that they have and at the end of the day, that is what matters - that the pictures created truly represent them.
Inside area
And finally, after they quickly changed and get into more casual clothes, we took more shots in the inside area of the park. Those shots were more relaxed, fun and casual. It was all about having fun, moving around, taking some fun portraits and having some nice memories, because the process is also important - I always try to have fun with my clients.
