A Perfectly Timed Mt. Fuji Proposal

The Perfect Plan

When Nyousha first reached out, she and Luke were simply hoping to capture some beautiful memories together during their travels in Japan… or so she thought.

We planned a peaceful couple’s photoshoot near Mount Fuji—one that would feel quiet and intimate, far from the busy tourist spots.

Chasing the Fuji Views

During our several conversations, we found that weather in the region can be unpredictable, with Fuji-san often hiding behind clouds despite the most careful planning. We coordinated closely, checking weather forecasts and discussing backup options. She wanted to have both the mountain view and fewer crowds so we needed to be strategic about timing and location.

After consideration, I suggested something that would give them the best of both worlds: we would start at the first Mt. Fuji location and then, based on the photography package they had chosen, I would drive them to another spot that offered a different perspective with fewer crowds.

The Magical Moment at Tenku no Torii

Our journey led us first to Tenku no Torii, which is known for its breathtaking panoramic views. As they walked along the platform, the scenic views of Mount Fuji stretching across the horizon created a spectacular canvas for what was about to unfold.

Partway through the session, Luke turned their quiet stroll into a moment neither of them would forget. With Mount Fuji standing gently in the background and soft afternoon light bathing the landscape, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. A simple photoshoot transformed into a breathtaking proposal!

The moment he dropped to one knee, time seemed to stand still. The look of surprise on her face, the tears that followed, and the resounding "yes" were all captured forever through my lens.

What made this moment even more special was how the entire scene played out against the backdrop of snow-capped Mt. Fuji against the blue sky, standing proud and clear on that perfect day, almost as if the mountain itself had decided to appear just for them.

Beyond the Crowds

But our day was far from over. Based on the package Nyousha had chosen, we drove to Nagasaki Park, where a tranquil lake offered reflections of the surrounding landscape. Here, with fewer people around, Nyousha and Luke could truly sink into the reality of their engagement.

The lake became our studio—its stillness mirroring their newfound calm after the emotional high of the proposal. With each click of my camera, I captured two people in love and two souls finding their place in the vastness of the landscape around them.
